Hard Truth: Mastery Is Insufficient

To be a holistic health professional in the modern world is a weird endeavor. Being a master of your craft is, sadly, insufficient for the sort of economic stability and success you seek and deserve for your heartfelt efforts.

In addition to your experience and expertise as a healer (therapist, coach, counselor, etc.) you need a robust set of entrepreneurial skills. You need a business model, a marketing plan, a functional tech stack and endless capacity for bookkeeping and administrative tasks — not to mention Self-generated motivation and time management mastery.

It's a lot! In my experience, the one irreplaceable component of my entrepreneurial process has been connection with colleagues and mentors. The outside perspective and guidance from trusted others is the most valuable business asset I know.

The truth is: you do not need to reinvent the wheel! Even though the landscape is changing all the time, there are time-tested concepts and techniques the implementation of which will move the needle on any business.

Build Yourself a Cabin

You've been in business for how many years? The real question is: have you been building your business for that long? Or have you been running the same one-year cycle over and over?

My mentor Tad Hargrave talks about the difference between a tent and a cabin — a tent is portable, quick to set up and take down, and doesn't require many resources. Meanwhile, a cabin takes more time, effort and resources to build. However, a cabin can keep you warm in winter, and you can host dinner parties, which is not so pleasant in a tent.

When it comes to your business, you want to live in a sturdy, spacious, well-decorated cabin. And: to create such a dwelling starts with a detailed blueprint, a specific set of tools and consistent, organized effort over time.

Sounds fun, right!? Well, a good home improvement project is always more fun with clever, well-experienced friends.

The Offer

As with many adventures, this one begins with commitment in the form of a financial investment.

The process begins with a one-hour consultation, for which I request $50. Part of the purpose of this session is to make a plan for how we move forward, at which point we'll discuss further investment requests.
