The Fine Print
In order to successfully engage with these offerings and this community, there are some important understandings that we need to share. Please read this section carefully before you commit to participating.Â
What follows serves as the rigid river bank that guides the flowing waters of the Church of Cymatics (the Church) and its auxiliary Associations. The language is meant to be as simple and clearly understandable as possible, avoiding cryptic legalese wherever possible.Â
I am aware that some of the language has a sharp quality to it. I accept this tone in the spirit of clarity and precision. These policies and shared understandings provide the solid containment structure that allows all involved to feel safe enough to do the potent transformative work which is the stated mission of the Church.
If anything is unclear, please reach out. I – David McConaghay aka Veda Dave, acting in my capacity as Cymatic Minister in service of the Church of Cymatics – offer my life’s work to the world in sincere good faith. I aim for the utmost excellence, honesty and transparency in every interaction.Â
That being said, I recognize my inherent human frailty and understand that despite my best efforts I may, from time to time, fall short of my aspirational ideals. In such cases, I trust life and this community to reciprocate my good faith when offering the accurate feedback required to make intelligent adjustments as necessary.
May it be of service! And, may this be the most interesting fine print you’ve ever read.

1. This is NOT a Business
This website is home to the Church of Cymatics – a 508(c)1a unincorporated faith-based organization invoking the separation of Church and State and Right to Free Assembly as laid out in the Constitution of the United States.Â
The mission of the Church is to facilitate and accelerate personal, collective and planetary healing through holistic Self-awareness and conscious evolution in the spirit of peace, joy and freedom for all beings.
All programs and services are offered under the umbrella of the Church and its auxiliary Private Membership Association – the Inner Physics Forum.
As Members, we affirm jurisdiction under Natural law. Furthermore, we regard the Constitution of the United States of America and the Declaration of Independence as conscious, living documents devised by humans to protect the inalienable rights granted us by virtue of being natural-born Earthlings. Additionally, we confirm that these documents were created to preserve our freedom and to protect our rights. No legislative body shall make a law prohibiting these rights.Â
The First Amendment to the Constitution for the United States of America protects the free exercise of our religion and guarantees our Members the rights of free speech, petition, assembly, and the right to gather together for the lawful purpose of advising and helping one another in asserting our rights under Natural law as preserved by the Federal and State Constitutions. The purpose of this agreement is to maintain and protect all such rights, constitutional guarantees and freedom of choice over our lives and bodies for every Member of our Association.Â
Any financial contributions you may offer to the Church and its auxiliaries are not considered payment for professional services. Instead, they are regarded as dues paid for Membership in a private Association. There is a spectrum of Membership levels which confer varying rights and responsibilities upon the Member. The Church does not accept any form of insurance.
All courses, classes, consultations and conversations are regarded as an exchange of privileged information between Members of a private Association. Any Member of the Association who may provide advice regarding health matters does so in the capacity of a fellow Member and not in any licensed capacity, specifically not as a doctor or therapist. Within the Association, no doctor-patient nor any other licensed professional or similar legal relationship exists between the Members.
The Church and its auxiliaries will accept any person (irrespective of race, color, creed or religion) who is in accordance with the principles and policies set forth here and in alignment with other Members.

2. Qualifications
As the founder and primary agent of the Church of Cymatics, it is important for you to know as much about my experience and expertise as possible in order to make a well-informed choice about whether or not to participate.
FIRST AND FOREMOST: I am not a medical doctor. I am not a licensed therapist. All offerings are exclusively for educational and spiritual purposes and are not a substitute for professional medical advice.Â
You understand that any invitation or personal health recommendation is adopted under your own volition. You as a Member assume all responsibility for the risks inherent to such practices.
With that said, here is a summary of my experience and expertise:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing from the George Washington University in Washington D.C., completed in May of 2008.
- Ayurvedic Doctor-level Certified professional (National Āyurvedic Medical Association) since 2018. This certification is the result of 4,000 hours of study over four years at Alandi Āyurveda Gurukula in Boulder, Colorado. This training includes at least 2,000 supervised clinical hours as well as extensive training in Āyurvedic herbalism and immersion in Non-Violent Communication as taught by Marshall Rosenberg.
- Thousands of hours of formal and informal study of Vedic Astrology, beginning in 2009. My primary teachers include Sam Geppi, Komilla Sutton, Bill Sinclair, Simon Chokoisky and Freedom Cole.
- Master of Metaphysics degree conferred by the University of Metaphysical Sciences, an online program accredited by the University of California and University of Minnesota systems. My Master’s thesis, completed in August 2019, is entitled “The Periodic Table of Āyurvedic Elements.”
- Non-Denominational Minister, ordained in the Wisdom of the Heart Church in 2018. Founder of the Church of Cymatics in 2024, as part of my forthcoming thesis for a Doctor of Divinity degree from the University of Metaphysical Sciences.
- Internal Family Systems Online Circle — a six-month program leading to recognition as an “IFS-informed” practitioner. Note: this is not the same as a “Level 1” practitioner. I am currently enrolled in the IFS Continuity Program to enhance my knowledge and clinical skill with this modality.
- Wild Mind Guide — recognized by the Animas Valley Institute after completing nine different weeklong (or longer) wilderness intensives and demonstrating proficiency with the Nature-Based Map of the Human Psyche and Eco-Centric Development Wheel.
- 1000+ hours of yoga teacher training — I have lived more than two years of my life in traditional ashram environments, completing the Advanced Teacher Training offered by the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres, as well as a wide range of other modules and conferences. I do not maintain registered teacher status with the Yoga Alliance.
- Permaculture Design Certification — 10-day intensive led by Midwest Permaculture at the Sivananda Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, California in November 2015. I have since lived at The Findhorn Foundation in Scotland (March - July, 2020) and PermaLab in Portugal (January - July, 2021), which are both spiritually-oriented permaculture community projects.
I maintain and am always adding to a robust list of professional references. When an issue arises which is outside my scope of practice, I consider it a sacred moral and ethical duty to make an appropriate referral.

Our services do not include psychological therapy, psychiatric care, or any form of medical treatment.
- Consultation with Medical Professionals: If you are under the care of a mental health professional or medical provider, you are encouraged to continue working with them and to seek their counsel regarding any decisions related to your mental or physical health. If you are not already seeing a licensed mental health professional, you are strongly encouraged to begin doing so immediately. The Church maintains and actively cultivates a wide network of trusted professionals; finding an aligned therapist is something with which we can help.Â
- Medication: The Church and its agents do not prescribe or make recommendations about pharmaceutical medications. If you are currently taking a prescription medication, you are encouraged to continue with your prescribed regimen and only alter it based on direct consultation with the prescribing physician or psychiatrist. The Church and its agents take necessary precautions concerning potential drug interactions with any recommended herbal remedies.
Member Responsibilities
As a Member of the Church and its auxiliary Association(s), it is your responsibility to:
- Consult a Licensed Professional: You are strongly advised to seek and maintain relationships with licensed mental health professionals (such as psychiatrists or therapists) and to follow the treatment plan provided by your healthcare provider.
- Understand the Nature of the Service: You understand that spiritual counseling is not a substitute for licensed mental health services. If you experience a mental health crisis, including severe mood swings, suicidal thoughts, or other psychiatric symptoms, you agree to immediately contact your healthcare provider or emergency services.
- Self-Awareness and Safety: You are responsible for communicating your needs, concerns, or discomfort at any time during the counseling process. The Church encourages open communication to ensure that the services are appropriate for your individual needs.
Â
Â
4. Confidentiality
The Church and its agents consider the protection of your personal privacy to be a sacred duty. We are committed to maintaining complete confidentiality. We will never sell or distribute your personal information or likeness without your explicit, written consent.Â
However, there are legal and ethical exceptions, including (but not limited to) situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
The Church makes all reasonable efforts to protect your data and protected health information. All session notes, recordings and form submissions are password protected using tools including (but not necessarily limited to):

You are not required to share any information you do not feel comfortable sharing.
Proprietary and Privileged Information
As a Member of the Church of Cymatics and its auxiliary Association(s), you may be privy to proprietary and privileged information. This includes (but is not limited to):

- A wide spectrum of political, economic and social opinions
- Educational video, audio and written material
As a Member of the Church, you agree to keep all such information private within the Church community. Distribution of educational resources or wanton disclosure of sensitive revelations will not be tolerated. Consequences for violation of this policy may include expulsion and appropriate legal remedies.
That being said, the Church of Cymatics strives to create an atmosphere of openness. The Church is welcoming to all sincere seekers. When sharing your experience in the Church with non-members, instead of saying something like "Guess what this person said," you are encouraged to say something like "Someone shared about this issue and it impacted me like so..." Before sharing anything, remember to ask yourself: “Is this my story to tell?”
Â
Â
5. No Guarantees
While the Church and its agents strive to provide meaningful support and guidance, we make no guarantees regarding the outcome of spiritual counseling services. The effectiveness of these services depends on many factors, including the Member’s active participation and commitment.

- You accept full responsibility for your well-being and agree that the Church and its agents are not responsible for any decisions you make based on our counseling sessions.
