Ceremonial Design

Weddings

Ā

A wedding is many things ā€” a public declaration of commitment; a celebration of the archetypal ideal of love; a stressful, chaotic day full of obligations, hand-shaking and baby-kissing but maybe not as much deep connection as you would like with loved ones gathered from near and far.

How you design the day and the ceremony itself has profound impacts on your state of mind and body as you cross through this one-way portal.

In my view, a wedding ceremony is, first and foremost, a moment outside of time when you and your beloved can have an intimate conversation with God, Nature, the Universe, Whatever.

Nature doesn't speak English; she speaks in symbol and metaphor. A powerful ceremony consists of carefully chosen symbolic acts that communicate your clear intent to theĀ cosmos, to request the blessings and support from all the beings, seen and unseen, who are invested in your health, happiness and soul-level evolution.

I love nothing more than meeting with couples (together and individually) to design a wedding ceremony that delights, surprises and truly moves all involved.

Rites of Passage

Ā

Natural human development moves through a predictable but infinitely unique series of transformations that mark the progression from one phase of life to the next.

Childhood is full of such transitions. Adolescence brings its own set ofĀ alluring and dangerous threshold crossings. As we move into adulthood, the changes become less physically obvious and more psycho-spiritual in natureĀ but no less powerful for their relative subtlety.

Traditional, Earth-based cultures throughout human history have honored these vital moments of transformation with culturally sanctioned and celebrated rites of passage. Sadly, this is something we have mostly lost in the modern, Western world.

However, humans still innately, if unconsciously, long for the explicit acknowledgement and celebration of important personal evolutions. There are time-honored practices that anyone can use to honor the major and minor junction points in their journey.

Whether it's a driver's license, a marriage or divorce, a new job, retirement or anything in between, a personalized rite of passage is a powerful way to move into your new role with clarity, grace and gratitude.

The Offer

Ā

As with many adventures, this one begins with commitment in the form of a financial investment.

The process begins with a one-hour consultation, for which I request $50. Sometimes a single session is sufficient, but most oftenĀ this is just the first step of a process. Part of the agenda for this initial session is to imagine what wants to happen and make a plan of action moving forward.
